3. RACE DAY FORMAT
 
  • Race Start times:  Junior & Para Race – 3:50     Senior Race – 4:15
  • 6 Divisions:  Girls / Boys:  Para Gr. 8-12 / Junior Gr. 8-10 / Senior Gr. 11-12
  • Para-Athletes, start with Junior race (800 – 1300m)
  • Junior Girls & Boys run together - 2 Finishing Chutes (3000 – 4000m)
  • Senior Girls & Boys run together- 2 Finishing Chutes (4000 – 5000m)
  • Finishing Chutes: Girls on the Right, Boys on the Left
 
4. FINISH LINE ORGANIZATION AND RESULTS:
 
Electronic Timing and Scoring for all Surrey League races by Ted of Ocean Athletics
 
  • All Athletes must be pre-registered via school coach or Athletic Director ahead of time.
  • Athletes will receive a numbered bib which will used for the whole season.
  • No bib, no race for you!
  • Results will be organized according to the athlete’s place, gender, age group & school.
  • This allows for quicker processing of results and scoring of school teams. No handwritten results!
  • A new added cost will be divided by all participating schools in Surrey and Delta.
  • Athletes of Surrey and Delta Athletic Associations only
  • Possibility of Invitational race once a season of outside the South Fraser.
5. SCORING & AWARDS:
  • Ribbons will be distributed:  Junior 1-25th, Senior 1-20th at each race.
  • Race hosts to supply 2 volunteers for distribution.
  • Individual Aggregate Medals 1st, 2nd, 3rd + Double Ribbons for 4th– 10th in each division (Best 4 out of 5 races)
  • Juniors & Seniors school teams require 4 athletes to score as a team.
  • League Champions for each division will receive Championship Banners, (Best 4 out of 5 races)
  • Tie breaker determined by who scored more points in the 5th race.
  • Distribution of Individual Aggregate Medals, Ribbons and Championship Banners at 5th race
 
6. QUALIFYING FOR South Fraser ZONE CHAMPIONSHIPS:
Runners must complete at least two League race (as per schedule) to qualify for South Fraser Zone Race.

7.  QUALIFYING FOR BC CHAMPIONSHIPS:
